Juan Cristóbal Saavedra aka Equipo is a Chilean composer, music producer & sound designer living in Europe since 2001.
In 1998 he recorded his first solo album of experimental music under the name of Pikap and in 1999 he started working on his electronic music project Equipo. At the beginning of 2001 he moved to Berlin where he was resident DJ at the legendary club Tacheles and produced his first album named (…e.q.u.i.p.o…).

In 2004 he moved to Barcelona and continued working as Equipo, pseudonym under which he has published 10 albums, as well as compilations, remixes, and collaborations. Across the years, Saavedra also have found time to be part of several musical projects as musician and producer, performing at festivals and concert halls across Europe and America, including festivals such as Mutek, Bam, Deleste, Cologne Commons or Re-New.

In the Visual arts, his collaborations with Jan SpeckenBach, Amaranta Velarde or Txalo Toloza-Fernández have been shown in instances like Sónar Festival, Galerie K&S, Museo Picasso, Loop Festival, La Casa Encendida or ARCO.

In the Performing Arts, Saavedra also has a long career as composer & sound designer, working with choreographer Marcos Morau (La Veronal) and dramaturg Roger Bernat among others, showing his work in festivals such as Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Tanz im August, Festival d'Avignon, Festival d'Automne à Paris, or Biennale di Venezia and working for renowned companies like Nederlands Dans Theater, Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon or Ballet Nacional de España.

In 2025, Saavedra was awarded the “Best Musical Composition for a Stage Show” at “XXVIII SGAE Max awards of Performings Arts” for Afanador by Marcos Morau and Ballet Nacional de España.
